The Najibullah regime survived the withdrawal of Gromov's army, defeating the Mujahedin attack on Jalalabad, at least until the collapse of the USSR and the ending of Russian military aid 3 years later? The USA has been completely defeated, on the eve of 9/11's 20th anniversary?

And Brydon was the last survivor of a group of 5,000. The rest were picked off on their way to Jalalabad.
Pretty sure there's upto 10,000 contractors still there.
